The Cromarty History Society & Friends of Cromarty Courthouse committee, in discussion with Cromarty Primary School, have agreed that owing to the challenges of Covid-19, there will be no History Prize awarded this year at the school’s June assembly (once again online).

Since August 2020, education has focused on a recovery curriculum of literacy, numeracy and health and wellbeing and so history — taught as part of social studies — has not taken place as usual.

With hope for a return to more ‘normal’ circumstances soon, the Committee looks forward to presenting this prize in June 2022, to the pupil selected by the school with the most enthusiasm for history.
