The Steering Group of the Cromarty: Homes & Heritage Project would like to appoint a Facilitator to take the Project forward from 1 January to 31 December 2013.
Cromarty: Homes and Heritage will be looking at the built heritage, social and working spaces of the town and its surrounds to find out more about the history of these places, including those that may no longer exist, but are present in people’s memories. This will be explored through community workshops and the results made broadly available through social media and a community exhibition.
The successful applicant will organize, and be responsible for, all aspects of the project, but in particular will:
• prepare for and run seven half-day community workshops looking at and discussing local maps and images of local buildings;
• collate and record the data resulting from these workshops;
• run a one day workshop on the use of the Historic Environment Record, and be
responsible for the submission of data to the HER as appropriate;
• prepare a final exhibition of the materials and information collected.
This project has received support from the Heritage Lottery Fund’s ‘All Our Stories’ grant and the sum of £2,800 is available to cover the Facilitator’s costs. Additional funds are available for items such as materials and venue hire. It is expected that the Facilitator will have substantial experience of community-based archaeological research, possess proven skills in group work and be familiar with the local area.
Please contact Sandy Thomson (01381 600708), or Vivienne Plampton (01381 600404) for more details about this exciting project.
Formal tender applications, including details of qualifications and relevant experience, to be sent to V Plampton at 12 Bank St Cromarty, IV11 8YE.
The closing date for applications is 5pm on 14th December, and the successful applicant will be notified by 21st December.
