Cromarty History Society’s Christmas meeting is a wonderful medley of entertainments put together by committee members.
The evening opens with a short film on Hugh Miller. This was created by student Holly Allen who herself has Cromarty connections and includes contributions from two local historians.
This will be followed by a short talk on an inspiring Cromarty hero, James Thomson, by History Society member Mary Bowers. Have you looked up at the gable wall of a house at the top of Church Street and spotted a blue plaque which is dedicated to him? If you have wondered just who he was, this is the talk that will tell you more.
The final part of the evening is a fun quiz to test your knowledge of local history with a prize for the winner, followed by festive mulled wine and mince pies.
Hope to see you all there!
